Celebrate the Coronation with Princess Cruises

An array of coronation-themed events and entertainment will feature on two Princess Cruises ships based in the UK to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III next month. Guests aboard Sky Princess and Regal Princess, both sailing out of Southampton, will enjoy a host of activities designed to celebrate King Charles’ ascension to the throne.

On 6 May, both ships will show live coverage of ‘The Coronation Service at Westminster’. Guests can watch ‘The Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle’ on the 300-square-foot ‘Movies Under the Stars’ jumbotron. The celebrations continue with ‘The Biggest Street Party’ replicated on top deck.

A fabulous ‘Royal Afternoon Tea’ served on board both ships, complete with British favourites such as Victoria sponge cake. Along with the celebrations, there will be Pimms and strawberries served on the top deck. British fare such as fish and chips, sausage rolls, and trifle will be available in World Fresh Marketplace.

Talks from guest speaker Grant Harrold, former butler of the King, will take place onboard Regal Princess between 3 and 5 May and on Sky Princess between 6 and 13 May. Harrold is a former British Royal Household member and a leading etiquette expert, royal commentator and broadcaster.

Princess Cruises will be decorating both ships for the occasion. The Piazza will be dressed with banners and bunting in Union Jack colours. Guests can dress-up in red, white and blue for a special Coronation night.

Regal Princess visits Holyhead in Wales on 6th May as part of the ship’s itinerary around the British Isles. Guests can experience this historical moment in a part of the UK that has strong connections with the King.

Sky Princess will offer an exclusive array of Coronation-themed entertainment. A special ‘Royal Variety Show’ including a tribute to Elton John, in the Princess Theatre. Plus you can test your knowledge with a ‘Royal Trivia’ quiz in Princess Live!.

Princess Plus all-inclusive fares start from £999pp for an eight-night cruise to Ireland and Scotland onboard Regal Princess. The itinerary will call at Portland, Guernsey, Cork, Greenock (for Glasgow) and Holyhead. Departure date is 30th April 2023.
