A New Adventure begins for Royal Caribbean’s ‘Wonder of the Seas’

The world’s newest wonder, Royal Caribbean International’s Wonder of the Seas, arrived in Barcelona, Spain, to kick off a summer full of memorable holidays in Europe. The fifth in the cruise line’s revolutionary Oasis Class line-up sets course for the Mediterranean on 7-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome beginning Sunday, 8th May. With a combination of brand-new thrills and signature favourites on board, Wonder is the getaway where holidaymakers of all ages can make memories as they sail to explore sought-after destinations such as Florence, Naples and Capri, Italy; Provence, France; and Malaga, Spain.

Ambassador delays inaugural cruise

The maiden Ambassador voyage to Hamburg, originally planned for 6th April 2022, has now been re-scheduled to depart on 20th April. The two subsequent sailings to the Norwegian Fjords have also been cancelled.

P&O Cruises lay keel for new eco-ship Arvia 

Keel laying is a traditional ship-building ceremony which always includes laying some coins on the keel block to bring good luck to the ship and its crew during construction and in the ships future at sea. The team building PO Cruises 184,000 tonnes ship Arvia, celebrated the milestone using specially selected coins from Barbados which were placed under the block before the block was then lowered onto the coins. This keel laying block weighs 570 tons, is 11.3 metres long, 42.10 metres wide and 11.81 metres high and had to be lifted by a 800 ton crane.
